Planning Team

The planning process will be led by the Northwest Georgia Housing Authority in cooperation with the City of Rome. The entire process will be overseen by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and coordinated by Camiros. The Choice planning team will also work with residents, non-profit organizations, and local businesses to create a Plan that reflects the vision and aspirations of the entire community.

The community is the residents who live, work, and play in the East Rome neighborhood; the businesses that reside in the neighborhood; the organizations and institutions within and beyond the neighborhood who invest their time, skills and money toward the continued improvement of the quality of the neighborhood and the quality of life of its residents.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s mission is to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all. HUD is working to strengthen the housing market to bolster the economy and protect consumers; meet the need for quality affordable rental homes; utilize housing as a platform for improving quality of life; and build inclusive and sustainable communities free from discrimination.
